Ok, more or less this is a test run on the products I’m currently testing out, but it turned out to be what I think is, is an updated take on the classic pin-up look. The eyes are soft, smokey without any harsh liner and a simple coat of mascara. Skin is luminous, highlighted with a gold sheen and the lips are of course, a classic red! To read the breakdown and for more pictures, keep reading!
For base, I used my go to product these days – Kiehl’s BB Cream, which has become an absolute necessity for me. And then, to finish off some problem areas, I use MUFE Face & Body Foundation in # 34. Finally, I concealed my under eyes using Clarins Instant Concealer in #3 – a bang on counter for my dark circles.
I tried contouring with a darker foundation for a first time and I’m very pleased with the results. Its a much softer way to contour and produces the most amazing effect but it is a lot more work than just brushing a bronzer. I also highlighted a lot using Benefit What’s Up Highlighter – which I’m loving just as much as I love Girl Meets Pearl. For blush, I used MAC Margin blush – a frosty peach!
For eyes, I preferred to keep it soft and smokey. Not too much drama – just a simple taupe eyeshadow and soft black/grey. I used Lise Watier Ombre Souffle Supreme in Taupe Fantasia & Magie Noire – I really love these eyeshadows, so perfect for everyday and more! For mascara, I used Marcelle Twist Push Up Mascara – I really like this mascara, it gives a lot of volume but it also lengthens. The only sort of a complaint is that it flakes a tad – nothing major. For brows, I used Annabelle Skinny Brow Liner – a seriously underrated gem. The only brow product from the drugstore which I trust.
For lips, I used Annabelle Twist Up Crayon in Cherry, which is basically the star of this look. Very excellent dupe of MAC Ruby Woo, I must say. I’ll talk about these soon in a detailed review, so wait & watch!
