Chunkiest Chilli

If you are a fan of Clinique’s Chubby Sticks, but wished for higher colour pay-off, I’ve got good news for you! Clinique Chubby Stick Intense are here! If you love intense colour pay-off in a lipstick which won’t leave your lips begging for some tender care, your prayers are answered, missy! Today I have a colour which I didn’t think I’d fall for, but in fact, I tripped on my shoelaces and fell flat on my face, only to have a gorgeous warm shade on my lips! It is Chunkiest Chili, a spicy mix of brown and red. A subdued, but beautiful red!

First things first, I strongly feel that these are not a lip balm and certainly not sheer. Sorry, Clinique, these are way too opaque to be flirt between sheer and opaque. These cover my pigmented lips and for that, I think, they are not sheer by any means. Also, when it comes to moisturizing qualities, yes, these are as moisturizing as the regular chubby sticks, but with these, I lack the freedom of reapplication that I enjoy with the sheer chubbies – unless, of course, I want to risk looking like a clown. So to me, Chubby Stick Intense are more or less a hydrating lipstick in adorable packaging.

chunkiestchillifotdAs for the colour, Chunkiest Chili, it is absolutely beautiful. I have never owned a colour quite like it – it is a cocktail of red, brown, pink and I can’t quite put a finger on what it is, exactly. It will make a great subdued “power” colour for day; it is such a not asking for attention, but still commanding it shade.

These are aptly priced at $19 Cdn and worth every penny, in my humble opinion. After all what I look for a lip colour is all present – intense colour payoff, moisturizing & adorable packaging. Love and approved for purchase.

aww thank you :) I love chubby sticks – the sheer one’s are pefect everyday lip colours and these are great when you want to amp it up. Really? I can’t wait for the eye ones. I guess shadow sticks are all the rage these days :D
