Dear concealer, your services are no longer required in the under eye area. Yes, you heard it right, I have said good bye to under eye problems for good. I just had a Eureka! moment today when I was taking pictures for a FOTD, nothing special. I was not wearing under eye concealer, even though I feel felt that I always need under eye concealer due to prominent dark circles, I tend to skip it because it cakes up and crawls under my laugh lines and baby wrinkles under the eyes. Also, as much as I need needed concealer to hide the heavy discolouration under the eyes, it was just an overall hassle to blend. Anyhow, so the reason behind all this hoopla (or lack thereof) is Lancôme Génifique Eye Light Pearl.

It is a thick, goopy liquid which takes forever to get sunk into the skin. Because of this, I end up smearing this all over my face and fingers if I rub my eyes. The applicator is a calming, cooling wand which possibly helps to de-puff the eyes, or at least cools them down. As for the results, I’ll just keep it short and simple; my dark circles are minimized unlike never before and the same goes for the “baby wrinkles” which were starting to form. Here are some before and after pictures, I am not wearing concealer in either and the lighting is pretty much same (as in they were taken during the same time in the day in natural lighting). For the record, the results started to show after 20 days of fairly regular application in the AM & PM.

The yay’s:
- It works and lives up to its claims as to brightening the under eye skin, getting rid of wrinkles, etc. A picture says a thousand words, right?
- Love the applicator as it really helps cool the tired eye area.
The nay’s:
- The liquid takes forever to settle into the skin.
- $85 in Canada & $68 in US; that’s $17 in difference!
So is it for you? I think it is the product for someone who struggles with multiple under eye issues – mainly those of stubborn dark circles and wrinkles. If you are an 18 y o who has bags from too much partying and all nighters, you could easily get away with something less high maintenance. Regardless of the price factors, I have to say it has worked wonders for me and to be honest, I didn’t think it would impress me so much. I would definitely be interested in repurchasing!

That actually doesn’t like like no concealer. I think I should do something about my dark circles too. High time now! How your skin glows, love!

Looks like you had incredible results. I’d love to try it but $85!??? Ugh! And why do we have to pay an extra $17 over the States? Lancome is French, for heaven’s sake. They already have labels in French and English! The horrendous extra prices we pay, plus the taxes, are crazy. If I ever decide to try it, I’ll get my DSIL to send it to me from NY. Bah, humbug!
Hi Moushka, unfortunately ripping off Canadians isn’t solely a Lancome thing. Though some companies do it more than others, all companies do it. The sad part is that most consumers don’t even know they are getting ripped off.
