YSL Golden Gloss in Golden Shell 51 ($34 Cdn) is a sparkling gold gloss in a beige base. I haven’t loved a sparkling gloss in a very long time, so it was quite joyous to discover this. What I really like about this gloss is that sure, it is assummingly glossy and golden – it is pretty much that gloss which belongs in the whole JLO look of bronzed skin, smokey eyes and bling-y pale gloss.

For me, this gloss is a great everyday summer gloss when I don’t want to wear a lot of colour and want something to complement my darker skin. The formula does not feel sticky, but somehow manages to stick around for a good four hours despite that. It also has a fruity scent to it and very, very slight sweet taste. The applicator is a brush, which, I feel compliments the slight sheer nature of the formula, and to provide fuller looking lips.

Overall thoughts: If you love sparkling, blinged out glosses – YSL Golden Gloss in Golden Shell is a great contender. It feels fabulous on the lips and lasts a good four hours. It is also super flattering on tan skin and is most likely best friends with your bronzer.

Overall rating: A-
