Illamasqua Intense Lipgloss in Mistress (£ 13) is a gorgeous ripe peach and cream gloss. Umm…I am hungry now. It is an opaque, juicy gloss that can’t go wrong for this spring/summer. Orange and its hues can not be hotter right now and that’s why it fits right in with the theme of the season.
The best part of Illamasqua’s intense lipgloss is its opacity. I love the full cover solid lipstick level coverage with mega watt shine. The bad part is the tackiness of texture – it applies thick and feels super sticky. I honestly do no mind this tradeoff – I was never the one to detest a gloss for the sticky factor. One thing I do detest is the packaging – I find this kind of packaging to be obnoxious and gimmick-y. I would much rather have it in a doe-foot applicator, which would offer me much more control for application.
Having said that, this is the only gloss I can get myself to purchase over and over again. I am recently a lipstick convert, as it has been testified by my blog posts lately and this is the only gloss formula I love. Yes, despite all the issues I have with the packaging.
Now, let’s talk about the colour in detail, shall we? I love the orange/coral – peaches and cream shade. It is my favorite gloss these days – simply fantastic. Girly, sassy and fun – all at the same time. I recommend!
Overall thoughts: If you don’t mind the trade off of sticky texture for intense colour, I recommend this gloss. This colour is especially gorgeous for the season. Love.
