Did you know that Annabelle makes the best selling eyeliners in Canada? Well, I am not surprised as Annabelle is known to make some of the best eyes and lips products in the drugstore and sometimes, in general. Also, when you take into account the fantastic price and range – there should actually be no doubt in your mind that Annabelle reigns supreme in the eyeliner department of the Great White North.
First up is, in Annabelle’s very own words, the legendary Black-73! Who am I to disagree, because shouldn’t black and eyeliner be synonymous? Every girl, whether emo or not, has at least a couple. I am really impressed by this one – it is pigmented and smooth to perfection. At $4.95 it makes itself look even better. My only grime is that I wish it lasted longer on my waterline. Overall rating: A-
Next, we have the captivating Violet-75. I almost typed violent instead of violet but don’t you worry, it is anything but aggressive. It is very subtle, actually. This one has me slightly torn. On one hand, I wish it was more pigmented on another, I love it as it is. I mean when a blogger evaluates a product, pigmentation is one of the big criteria, right? Despite not being overtly pigmented, it works. I love pairing it with a cream eyeshadow like Maybelline Colour Tattoo, for instance and the result is effortless, subtle, colourful eyes that are so purdy. I am not going to complain any further and say that it does a good job, though not in the most conventional kohl-like way. My rating for this ranges from B to A, therefore, I do not wish to assign this one a rating, sorry! Please take a look at some of the ways I used it and decide for yourself whether you’d like to get one or not.
Overall thoughts: I like Annabelle’s Kohl’s, at about $5 a pop, they do the job just as well as a $20 eyeliner out there. Also, when you realize that there are a bazillion of colours in the range, it makes it an infinitely better deal.
