Lancome’s newest range of lipsticks are just what the doctor ordered for a lipstick lover. Rouge In Love is the make-up giant’s latest offering and yes, it is quite enough for you to be in love with it. I remember when I was younger, in high school, especially there was nothing more matronly than a lipstick. A lipstick to me symbolized my mom, literally. And we all know that teenagers and moms aren’t always in love; they can happily coexist, at most… So if you could derive, I was anything but in love with lipstick.
But if I had met Rouge In Love back then, it would be a different story, I am certain. There is nothing mom about this lipstick; Emma Watson is spearheading its campaign, for make-up god’s sake! Available in 24 vibrant shades, it boasts of many gorgeous, young shades of reds and pinks with a little bit of orange and purple thrown in!
I got to try Lancome Rouge In Love Lipstick in 353 M Rose Pitimini ($30 Cdn), a gorgeous medium pink shade which is perfect for anytime, anywhere! The lipstick feels so comfortable on the lips, almost feels like a gel like texture on lips. It is not especially moisturizing, though – just comfortable! I love the vibrancy of colour, even though it is out of the Jolis Matins lot, the colour pay off is brilliant. It claims to have a wear of 6 hours, but I disagree, it lasts 4 hours maximum. Nothing to disappoint, but does not sweep me off my feet in that department. The most loveable part is the packaging; it is just so fun and chic!
Overall thoughts: Lancome Rouge In Love is quite loveable! I love the formula, the colours, the packaging and yes, the campaign too! It is most definitely worth a shot. Thanks for taking the mom tag off lipstick, Lancome, I am sure a lot of young ones will gravitate towards this one!
Overall Rating: B+/A-
