NARS Sheer Glow Foundation ($55 Cdn) is my holy freaking grail foundation; there, I said it! There isn’t a thing wrong with this foundation and trust me, I tried hard to find just one like it is my job (well, it is).
This foundation is perfect for my normal-dry skin type. It has the most velvet like texture there ever could be. It has just the perfect amount of pigment; it covers the uneven skin tone but never actually looking like you have foundation on. The glow it provides is simply gorgeous. It looks like your skin, but only infinitely better. Though it is supposed to be “sheer”, it is actually feels more than that to me. The coverage is natural, but covers whatever imperfections I have quite perfectly. The consistency of the foundation is such that it is neither too watery nor too gunky, just a perfect medium. I need very little of the foundation to cover my entire face, too.
The most flattering feature, according to me, however, is that it photographs amazingly. It just makes your skin so freaking photogenic and not just on camera, in life too. Let me elaborate on what I mean; it is like some perfect lighting situation follows you wherever you go, lol! The shade selection is wonderful, and I have my most perfect match in Barcelona, for my MAC NC 35-40 skin tone. It is so perfect that instead of describing my skin tone as NC whatever, I prefer to say that I am a Barcelona in NARS ! As for the wear, since I live in a country in which nobody sweats unless they are working out or are in a sauna, it lasts pretty well on me. I am not sure how it would fare in hot and humid conditions but given my current surroundings, it lasts however.
Ok, I lied, there are indeed some flaws with this foundation. For one, it does not come with a pump, but only an open ended bottle which often squirts out more product that I can ever need. It ends up in spills and wastage and it kills me to waste a product I absolutely love. You can buy a pump seperately , but I already pay a lot for the foundation and shouldn’t that be included in it beforehand? Also, this same foundation costs $42 in US and costs $13 more for us Canucks. What the heck is up with that, NARS? Why do these cosmetics companies hate us Canadians so much?
Overall thoughts: I simply love this foundation and the product is phenomenal, as far as I am concerned. If you have normal to dry skin, I am sure you will love this foundation. It has become my holy freaking grail for a reason, everyone!
