Lancome Les Yeux Doux Vert Tendresse ($54 Cdn) is an eyeshadow quad from Lancome’s Spring 2012 Roseraie Les Delices collection. It consists of four gorgeous, pastel green eyeshadows. My initial impression of this was, it is pretty but will I be able to carry this off? Well, sure enough, I am able to carry this off. The shades are mainly pastel-like in tone, but have a slight jewel toned finish so they don’t end up awkward on someone like me who has warm undertones in my skin.
Quality wise, I have absolutely no issues as the eyeshadows are pigmented, blend well and stay on the entire day with a primer. I was rather impressed, to be honest because normally such shades do not perform well on me – either they don’t show up or don’t stay on but this one is an exception. It is, $54, however and for colours that may not always get a lot of wear, it would be a gamble to go out and splurge. If you know you love these colours and would wear them a lot, then by all means go and get this. If you are in two minds, then do not. Lancome also has another quad from this collection, Les Yeux Doux Rose Romance, which is a nice mix pinks and bronze; it would be a nice alternative for those of us who find pastels pretty, but tricky for warmer tones. If the quality on this one is any indication, the other quad is definitely worth a look.
Overall thoughts: Vert Tendresse does not disappoint. The pigmentation and longevity of the wear is remarkable. If you are a fan of pastels, then you will definitely enjoy this quad. It is expensive, however, so make a promise to yourself that you will wear these colours a lot before your wallet loses $54.
