Sephora Mineral Foundation Compact ($26) is what I like to call five seconds to flawless. I had heard one of my favorite youtube gurus, Beautycrush, rave about this compact, so of course I had to poke my nose and figure out what the big deal was for myself. I am happy to testify, that this foundation rocks the socks; no, really, it does!
What I love about this foundation is that it is quick and offers the just right coverage for everyday – well, that’s about it, but isn’t that enough? The best part is that you can put this foundation on in five seconds and head out. I love the fact that it offers quick, even, flawless coverage and I feel like I have run out of adjectives here…
Even though it is a powder foundation, it is not drying and neither does it accentuate fine lines. I use it with a kabuki brush to apply evenly really quickly. The coverage it offers is very natural but enough to cover slight discolouration. It does not feel cake-y at all. I have normal/dry skin and it is right up my alley. I honestly do not know how it would fare on people with oily skin type, but it is quite befitting to my skin type and knowing that not many powder foundations fare well, this is a true find. One minor complain, however is that the range does not carry a lot of shades, especially for darker beauties. Mine, which is D 35, matches me perfectly but it is nearing the end of the colour spectrum here. There is really just one shade darker than this and it makes me wonder if the shade range is adequate.
The packaging is classy, comes with a dual ended sponge which offers two types of coverage; light and full. There is a separate compartment for sponge and comes with a full view mirror that is as big as the compact.
If you read this blog, you would have an idea of how many foundations I own and this is something I have come to use everyday, despite the fact. It is super convenient and finds a permanent place in my purse for quick on the go applications and touch-ups. If I had to take one foundation for travelling, this would be it!
Overall thoughts: I really like this foundation and I highly recommend it to those with dry skin who previously had little/no luck with powder foundations because it may just change it. This foundation offers high-end product with a high-street price, what’s not to love? This one is a keeper, y’all!
