Guerlain Rouge Automatique Lipstick ($40) is all sorts of fabulous. The shade I got is Chamade – 164, which is a bright rosy pink. This shade is wearable by almost everyone; from very fair to dark tans. The colour pay off flirts between being opaque, sheer and glossy, so we’ll just call it semi-opaque with a glossy finish. The most impressive thing about this lipstick is that it lits up your face; it is really all you need to look polished. I guess it has something to do with the word Guerlain attached to it. It lasts on me for about 2-3 hours then fades into a gorgeous stain. The formula is like butter, but unlike other department store lipsticks with a similar finish, it does not apply gunky but applies in an extremely thin layer. The most loveable thing according to me, however, is the packaging. I am always someone who somehow, magically, forgets to completely untwist my lipsticks and completely destroys them in the process of putting the lid on. Does it sound familiar? Well then you will definitely love Rouge Automatique more like me. There is no lid, but it instead has a lever that “opens” and “closes” the lipstick, so very little room for ruining your $40 lipstick.
For this FOTD I am, of course, wearing Guerlain Rouge Automatique in Chamade, but besides that I am only wearing foundation on face; Make Up For Ever HD Foundation in 153. On my eyes, I am wearing MAC Smolder on the waterline (of course) and some random silver eyeshadow patted on the eyelid (I just did it to play around).
Overall thoughts: I love this lipstick so much, it is only a matter of WHEN I will get another shade from this range. This particular colour or not, I highly recommend this lipstick. This colour is also pretty amazing, in case you get too spoiled for choices And if you are not done holiday shopping as of now, I have just helped your case right now, right?
Oh my god, too much? I am soo sorry, I just got a *little* carried away!
