What’s in a name? Ask Dior Addict Lipstick in Millie!

Normally, I would research lots before buying anything – ok, that’s a lie. I’ll buy anything to try, for once at least. But I haven’t been as rash as I was now when it came to this one. The last time I was at Sephora, I wanted to get this exact lipstick. Of course, like any sane shopper would want to, I wanted to swatch this one too – just to see how it would have shown up on me. I and the SA, couldn’t for the lives of us (sounds so funny in plural) find the tester for this, so I decided to buy this one regardless. Why, you may ask? Well, because I liked the name! Yup, Shakespeare can eat his words because there is a lot in a name. Especially if you are me and the name in question is Milly/Millie/ Or any other variant of Milly! Today is my little girl {aka the pup}’s first birthday and in honor of that, I wanted to feature a lipstick named after her. So yes, today’s pick is Dior Addict Lipstick in Millie ($31), which is a sheer mauve.

The formula of this lipstick is perfect for everyday; sheer with a hit of colour, hydrating and lots of shine. If I were to compare it to a MAC finish, it would be closest to the lustres, but it is a little more vibrant and a lot more hydrating. The colour pay-off is about the same, however. The lipstick is very comfortable on the lips, living up to its hydrating claims. On me it lasts about 2-3 hours and then fades into a subtle stain of colour. What I liked the most about this lipstick is that it practically lit up my face (maybe it had something to do with the name ha ha). The shade in question is lovely too, perfect on to go color for everyday and will suit almost all skin-tones. And how appropriate it is for the fall? I say very! The best part about it is the packaging; I mean, hello, I would not mind pulling this out of my purse for a touch up! Overall, I think it is a wonderful formula, I would definitely want some more shades from this range. The shade gets a seal of approval too, it is just one of the colours that would suit an array of skintones and get a good amount of usage.

Don't you want to wish me Happy Birthday?

Happy birthday Milly! Hope you had a fabulous, tail-wagging day & that Shivani has spoiled you (& continues to do so)!

That’s a gorgeous shade and it looks beautiful on you! I was on the hunt for a good lipstick. Maybe I’ll check this one out. Do you have any other favorites?

Happy belated Birthday, Millie! You are SO adorable! Believe it or not, many years ago, I had a fur-baby who looked almost exactly like you. Here’s the real coincidence: her name was Camille and I always called her Milly as a nickname! Oh, how I miss her!
