The Body Shop Extra Virgin Minerals Powder Foundation ($25) is a finely milled, super light powder foundation which offers sheer, but buildable coverage. It comes in 12 shades (mine is 302 Golden Beige) and therefore offers a variety of shades to choose from and to suit any complexion. It is sensitive skin friendly and non comedogenic.
It is a powder mineral foundation and there have been so many before this one, so this faces a lot of competition in that sense. Well to cut short, this one holds its own. The Body Shop was justified to come up with a mineral line because like they say, better late than never! I think while reviewing this one, I was (and maybe you will too) drawing comparisons to the iconic Bare Escentuals Powder Foundation. To be honest, these two are very different; the only similarities being that they are both powder mineral foundations. Bare Escentuals is a full coverage coverage foundation, chunkier in texture and these two have different packaging.
Now on to The Body Shop Extra Virgin Minerals Powder Foundation, it could very well be what you want. It offers sheer but buildable coverage. This quality also makes it work as a finishing powder. If you have acne scars or heavy discoloration this may not be your ideal product. Though the coverage is buildable, it is mostly natural, as if you are not wearing any make-up at all. It does cover the slight imperfections in the complexion, but just that. Overall it leaves a nice radiant sheen to you skin, which is very natural. It also goes really well over other foundations and works fabulously as a finishing powder. What I loved about it is that it is very finely milled and does not settle into fine lines. I even use it to set my under eye concealer. Another thing I like about it is the packaging, it has a built in sieve which allows for easy access to the product. Overall, this is a nice product, if you like powder foundations with sheer coverage, you will surely like this one.
