MAC Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Ultra Darling ($17.50 Cdn) is a mid tone yellow pink. According to me, however, it is a muted coral pink with yellow undertones. The moment I tried it on in the MAC store (which was yesterday) I knew we would go a long way (read loooooong way).
Since this was my first time with this formula, I thought I’d separate the review into two sections; one on the formula and the other on the color.
The formula: It is hands down my favorite formula from MAC (along with Amplified finish). It is an amped up lustre finish (which is also one of my favorite formulas), the color is more vibrant and the lipstick just feels more moisturizing in comparison. It is also quite long lasting, gives me about two hours easily, which on my lips is quite a feat. Non sticky but really glossy. I’m a convert from gloss to lipstick and I blame lipsticks like these. Who wants to deal with hair sticking in your gloss and not to mention the stickiness when you get opaque color and shine with lipsticks? Either way, this formulation is a happy medium for those who hate the stickiness of a gloss, but still want the shine.
The color: I got the lipstick in Ultra Darling and let me tell you, it is utterly gorgeous. It is not fuss free at all, perfect for everyday; when you want to look put together without much effort. It just brightens up your face. It is especially perfect for anyone between NC 30- NC 43 (medium skin tones).
Overall thoughts: I love this formula and the color. Get this if you like a moisturizing lipstick with lots of shine and color. I want to get more colors, for sure!
