Life of a beauty blogger, you try a gazillion products and rarely do you come across something that you just don’t want to use it up, simply because it is just *that* gorgeous to look at and on you, too. Meet Tarina Tarantino Sparklicity Bronze Eyeshadow Palette ($46 Canadian/ $38 US). It consists of seven neutral eyeshadows and a beautiful pop of turquoise. Tarantino, the creator of the line (& the product) was influenced by “soaring Moorish architecture and dusty Turkish horizons, Sparklicity Bronze conjures up images of sun drenched vistas and regal exoticism. Dazzling geometric tiling from the famed Topkapi Palace inspires this sophisticated update of summer colors. Shimmering neutrals, misty golds, and soft oasis blue lure you eastward on this elegant voyage.” (Source: sephora.com)
I feel like I am writing a paper, using the quotation marks and crediting a source, but the inspiration behind the palette was so beautiful that I felt obligated to share it here. The palette consists of eight shades; pearl, pearlized nude, shimmering bronze, matte brown, pearlized pink, taupe, turquoise and shimmering brown. To make the shadows vibrant and long lasting, they contain pigments from crushed pearl, diamond dust and silky porcelain (whew!).
What I liked about it? The colors are so gorgeous and wearable at the same time. Most of them are neutral, therefore the wearability, but these are not the dull, blah, boring neutral, the shades stand out. The palette has a nice mix of deeper colors, high light shades and a beautiful spring of color in the turquoise blue. The eyeshadows are extremely smooth, blend easily and are so, so soft. The amount of eyeshadows in the palette are also generous in size, 0.09 ounce each in size. Not only that, for $48(Cdn), you get 8 eyeshadows, which turns out to be for $6 a pop. MAC eyeshadow, for example, retails for $17.50 each for 0.05 ounces. The quality of the Tarina Tarantino eyeshadow is just as good, if not better than MAC. With primer on, this eyeshadow lasts a good 8 hour day without creasing or falling apart. The packaging is so beautiful and characteristic in nature. I love how there is a Turkish influence on the exterior, I am quite a sucker for country/culture inspired cosmetics.
What I didn’t like about it? Umm, the fact that it didn’t come into my life sooner? If I must be such a critic, I would say that I didn’t like the mirror in the palette. The make of the exterior is such that it flips open like a book and you can not use it while doing your make-up. I wish they had some Turkish poetry written on it, instead. Ok, I’m sorry, I am taking it too far 😛

Overall thoughts: I L.O.V.E this palette, its simply beautiful and very much on the trend with the whole neutral eyeshadow thing. It all started with Urban Decay’s Naked palette and we haven’t looked back since with Too Faced and NYX coming up with similar palettes and allegedly great ones, too. Tarina Tarantino has come up with a similar and exceedingly good palette which shouldn’t be overlooked. If you love your neutrals, you must head out and take a look at this beauty, you will not be disappointed.
