I have decided to do a new feature on the blog, where I revisit my old favorites or non-favorites and see where I stand on them a while later. I have been blogging for one and a half years now, so there are plenty of products I have reviewed in this journey. I will be the first to admit, I was an amateur at first, I would review things in a hurry or without much thought. Now, however, I have gained a lot more experience and have discovered my own blogging style which is steadier, for sure. So first up with have my beloved, holy grail eyeshadow primer, MAC Painterly Paint Pot. (Click on the link to read original review.)
I absolutely love this as a primer. I have used all kinds of eyeshadow primers; three kinds of Urban Decay Primer Potion, Benefit’s Stray don’t stray and Too faced shadow insurance. While they were all fabulous primers in their own right, I loved Painterly the best. I guess it strictly comes down to personal preference because none of them did the job drastically differently than Painterly, except maybe Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin, which did crease on me a lot! I love Painterly’s consistency, not too creamy, just the right layer of product. It plays up the eyeshadow’s color and helps the look stay together for just long enough for me. It does not feel heavy on the lids, is easy to spread. And even without much thought put into it, this would be the primer I would reach out for the most. So that in all, speaks for itself. The only drawback is the bacteria spread from fingers running all over it, but I am willing to deal with that. But at the end of the day, I have to say, one year later and we are still going strong. ♥
PS: Which primer do you swear by?
