I am in super-cranky mood these days, read: exam stress. I am due to write an exam which 60% of the people fail, that’s right! And lately I had been feeling kind of down too, so just my life is not very happy. It is not how I imagined it to be. I just stay in holed up with my books and if time permits, I play with make-up. Yoga is another thing I seek solace in, but I can’t practice it as much as I would like. I’m constantly yelling and I just don’t feel like myself. I wish I could be happy, but it is just not happening. Wow, what a rant, right? I’m so sorry, but I had to let it out! But one of my favorite pick me up activities is playing with my blushes. I love blushes, they make me so happy. If I were to be stranded on a deserted Island, I would take my yoga mat, my blush collection, a bikini, and an ipod with lots of Bob Marley in it. Won’t it just be perfect?
Anyways, now to MAC Smooth Harmony Beauty Powder, which came in the A Triumphant Face Blush Kit from A Tartan Tale collection (wow, quite a mouthful, right?). Well, it is a beauty powder and I’ll be the first to admit that I know very little about beauty powders except for the fact that they are versatile, all over the face powders, which, depending on the pay-off and color can be worn as blushes, high-lighters or bronzers. Smooth Harmony is a orange bronze color, without any tones of brown in it. Initially, I thought that it was a bronzer. Wrong, wrong! It can be used for contouring, depending on your skin-ton and as a blush, as well! I thought I’d compare it a real bronzer, to see the difference. I compared it to my trusted Benefit Hoola, which is the perfect bronzer or my skin-tone.
Benefit Hoola is definitely darker and more of a bronzer than MAC Smooth Harmony Beauty Powder. I can’t ever wear Hoola as a blush, but that’s definitely not the case with Smooth Harmony as it looks nice as a blush too. In fact, I’d rather just wear it as a blush. What do you think?
