I don’t know what it is with red lipsticks and me, but I love them. I don’t wear reds very much outside my house because I like to keep my make-up obsession on the d/l. Only my closest friends and family (only because I live with them) know that well, I am a lost case when it comes to collecting make-up. So back to the red lipstick, yeah whenever I am feeling down, I pull out some red-lipstick and slab it on my lips. Its better than chocolate, I tell you. I instantly feel like a sexy beast, lol jk.
Note: If you have MAC Russian Red Lipstick, you don’t need this. They are awfully similar.
And I would like to apologize for the lack of consistency in posts, I am awfully busy for the next 40 days. I am due to write a designation exam and its kicking my butt. FML!
First of all, is the color ok? The MAC SA suggested I try NC 35 in foundation and NW 30 in concealer for the winter. I usually wear NC 40 in foundation and NC 42 in concealer. The NC 42 concealer left a yellow-ish cast. But considering how dark my dark circles are, I need something which is a little more opaque and full in terms of coverage. That’s where I don’t like this concealer. My dark circles are peeking through, aren’t they? Besides that, I have another issue; the packaging! The little pumps should be banned, period! They waste out so much product, so not cool!
The good news, (yes, there is good news!) however is, that it will stay put for a long time. Once you put it on, it stays, even if you rub your eyes. I first put it on at 9:30 AM and my make-up remained the same till I was ready to go to bed at 10:30 PM. So, yes, it does live up to its Longwear name.
The Verdict? It is a nice concealer to have if you need something that lasts long, and that’s your sole criteria for a concealer. You should, however, be able to deal with minor quirks such as the annoying little pump which wastes a lot of product. It is also a bit sheer for my dark circles, which demand a little more coverage. No repurchase for me, but I can see it fitting the bill for many of you.
