CUPCAKE = YUMMM
Today, I had the strangest craving for a cupcake – it eventually ended up inspiring the review of the day, which is for Lush’s Cupcake Fresh Face Mask. Because of this silly craving, I had to run to Starbucks to get a Vanilla Buttercream Cupcake, which is all sorts of wrongs (in a good way, of course). Anyways, my blog is not about food – its about make-up, skin care and all things beautiful – so without further delay, let’s talk about Lush’s Cupcake Fresh Face Mask. If you have been reading this blog, you’ll know I am a big fan of Lush products in general and especially their Fresh Face Masks. Does Cupcake stand a chance to join the league of my favorite face masks….?
What is it? It is a chocolate-scented, chocolate-coloured cocoa powder and cocoa butter mask. Also prevents and soothes break-outs and removes excess oils from the skin, making it an ideal mask for break-out prone, sensitive, oily skin. Also contains Rhassoul mud, which has anti-microbial properties and spearmint oil for the fresh scent.
How does it fare? Since I do not have oily skin, I was probably not the best tester for this face-mask. Also, add to the fact that I rarely break-out, if ever. But I have to say, it is a deeply cleansing mask and I felt the effects on my skin immediately. It left my skin absolutely flawless, dampened and ready to be moisturized. It is not an exfoliating mask, so I feel comfortable using it more than once a week. I love the natural scent of chocolate and peppermint, which is not overbearing at all. After I washed my face on, I put on moisturizer on my damp skin and felt that moisturizer got absorbed into my skin much better than it does on an average day. Overall, I think it is a fantastic deep cleansing mask even if you have normal skin like me.
Verdict : If you have oily skin, you’ll need this mask more than someone like myself who has normal skin. It deep cleans your skin like nobody’s business. Love it. Will repurchase when my skin needs deep cleansing – this may be my first cosmetic purchase in India. My skin will need a break from all the pollutants and toxins in Delhi’s air.
